Branded Bills is a consumer goods and apparel company that grew fast, the founders, including Josh Tabaj, loved to grab an idea and run with it. The problem with running that fast is you stop looking back to see where you're going. The shift here was Design: trading a startup's scramble for the structure of an actual company, without losing the speed that made it work.
Early on, everybody was doing ten different things and not doing any of them especially well. There was a lack of structure, people wearing too many hats, and no real way to manage all the moving parts a growing business creates. The team came to a hard conclusion on its own: you can only run that fast for that long before the cracks start to show. Growth without a plan underneath it isn't a strategy, it's a countdown.
We worked across Direction, Design, and Dynamic and built the structure the speed was missing. Real planning instead of reacting. Clear roles so people stopped overlapping and stepping on each other. A way to manage the team effectively as it grew, and the financial visibility to hire with confidence instead of crossing fingers. The point was never to slow them down, it was to make the speed sustainable.
"We're now operating as a company rather than a startup business," Josh said. "We've not only seen explosive growth, but we're really set up to scale to the next level... It's made our lives easier and let us put the focus back on why we started this business."
